Andrea Lawson

BHK, Exercise Science

Andrea is a kinesiologist and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) who loves helping people overcome the injuries or limitations preventing them from reaching their full potential. She founded Balance In Motion in 2008 - a performance and injury rehab centre, which has two locations in the lower mainland.

In 2018, Andrea was introduced to the world of ultra running when she randomly decided to sign up for an alpine camp with Capra. Prior to that she had completed road 10km and half marathons; however, had been primarily focusing on strength training since 2011. After completing the three day camp, she dove into training full on by hiring endurance coach (Eric Carter from Ridgeline Athletics) and signing up for her first race. She currently competes in the 25-55km distances. Other passions involve skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing, fastpacking, and of course weight lifting.

Devon Goldstein

BHK, CSCS

Devon started her strength training career working with general population mostly focused on return to sport after injury. She began working with elite endurance athletes in 2014, and since then she has expanded her practice to include runners and race walkers from 800m, the marathon, 50km and every event in between. She has had numerous athletes attend both Olympic and World Championships and be competitive at the National level. She enjoys being a part of each athlete’s unique team, collaborating with coaches and clinicians to develop the best possible plan for them.

Continuing education and learning from her peers is a large part of Devon’s practice. She enjoys reading articles on anything relating to gait and performance, from breathing and biomechanics to mental strategies and recovery.

Her own athletic journey started with waterpolo, where she was on the youth national team. Once in university her focus shifted to weightlifting before settling into trail and mountain running. She runs track and road in the winter to better understanding the training her athletes undergo, but in the summer she spends as much time as she can in the alpine.
